Summary

This course will bring attention to diastasis rectus abdominis, a condition typically present in pregnant and post-partum women. We will cover the implications of diastasis rectus abdominis as it relates to potential back and lumbo-pelvic stability, potential for pelvic floor dysfunction, and abdominal muscle strength. We will cover ways to assess diastasis rectus abdominis and treatment options as a physical therapist to treat diastasis rectus abdominis. We will cover recent evidence regarding diastasis rectus abdominis.

Kristina Kehoe, PT, DPT works at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in Grove City where she treats orthopedic and women’s/men’s health patients.
